How to Quickly Align Objects in MAYA

Updated: May 4, 2018

This is a cool little tip that is super handy when you want to align 2 objects quick and easily.

Before knowing this trick i used to go the long way around and used to align objects by parent constraining them to one another and then deleting the constraint. This takes some time to do, especially if you have to do it over and over again.

There is a much simpler way.

First, select the object you want to align to.

Second, select the object you want to align.

Then, go to the channel box and select the channel (just one at a time) you want to align and press the TAB button on your keyboard. Maya will automatically jump down to the next channel below the first one you selected. Press TAB again and the same thing will happen and so on and so forth.

And voila. Your objects have been magically aligned.

Quick and easy!
